The name of the primary character(s) is August, he was born moderately rich, extremely intelligent, possessing golden genes, and being presented opportunities that many would kill for. However, he did nothing with them. He squandered everything he was given, not striving to do anything but to go home and laze about on his phone. For his entire life, he produced nothing, gave nothing, did nothing. A part of this was due to struggles with anxiety, which he managed to shake off himself after he truly put his mind to abandoning it and depression, which he experienced all his life until Christine came along and he began to strive to become better for her sake. Christine, of course, the snake that she was, ultimately forced him to make a choice, become a cuckold or leave her. He chose to remain true to himself, leaving her to be with whoever she wished to be with. Not too long after - in his young twenties - he was abducted from his bed by a golden hearkening, a creature with multiple pairs of wings, a golden line, and chains. This created two copies of himself, one inhabiting a corpse and one inhabiting a sword. Unlike the corpse, a sword was never meant to support life; metal can only support a facsimile of one. Only the memories and patterns of thoughts remained. The sword, dubbed Damon, had lost his emotions. All August had been living for before was contentment, so, with that gone, Damon had lost his purpose, and anything without a purpose is a truly sad thing to behold. But, the corpse, August, was not the same, either. The corpse he had inhabited, while still humanoid, was not human. His body, covered in rocks, like armor, had decayed. Around his eyes, in his throat, in his joints, the flesh was raw, red, and bloody, possessing no skin. Damon, having woken up before him, had long discovered how to utilize the magic in the air, creating tools that allowed him to hear, see, and speak, while August allowed himself to be taught by Damon for the sake of survival. --- The magic in this book is going to be extremely detailed, significantly more so than most books. It will rely on the creation of structures from magic, so I will be using geometry to describe what is happening on occasion, but you don't need to understand everything about it to understand the book as a whole. Currently, I don't plan to pursue writing this in earnest, so the chapter release times may be somewhat sporadic, but it shouldn't be too bad. Each one ought to be approx. 1.1k words released every day to every other day.
